If you’ve never tasted grilled asparagus, you don’t know what you’re missing! Asparagus is one of those early season garden vegetables I look forward to preparing every year when early summer rolls around. I used to steam asparagus and drizzle it with a butter lemon sauce. It was tasty, but I wanted to try something new. I’m always looking for ways to prepare foods that we can cook outside, whether on the grill, in dutch ovens or over an open flame on the campfire.

Grilled asparagus is so delicious and easy to prepare. The trickiest part is making sure the asparagus spears don’t fall between the slats of your grill into the coals below! I used to put a piece of tin foil down on the grill under my veggies, but they didn’t get the dark grill marks I love and I didn’t like the waste.

Last year I bought a grill basket to use for cooking veggies and fish on the grill. We had lost one too many grilled zucchini and potatoes to the coals on the bottom so I figured it was worth the investment. This grill basket ( this is the one we have) works wonders to prevent foods from falling into the abyss of hot coals below!

[yumprint-recipe id=’7′] Grilled asparagus is so delicious and easy to make! Plus, making it outside on the grill means less time spent inside over the hot stove when it is hot outside. Now that is something to be grateful for!

Hello I'm Annie and welcome to our blog!
